Where do you tutor?
Tutoring sessions are conducted in mutually-agreeable locations such as libraries, schools, and bookstores.  We do not usually meet students in the home, mainly due to the many distractions (television, pets, siblings, etc.) which may inhibit the student's full concentration.  We also do not prefer to tutor "on-line", since we have found that the personal, one-on-one connection works best for helping students learn.

What qualifications do your tutors have?
Brainiac Tutors hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree and must have 12 semester hours or significant professional experience in the subject matter they are tutoring. All Brainiac Tutors are highly recommended by their professors and professional colleagues, and most have extensive teaching and/or tutoring experience.

What is Brainiac Tutoring's approach and philosophy?
Brainiac Tutoring's approach is caring and focused, helping one student at a time.  Our philosophy is that of "strategic tutoring," which emphasizes helping each student to learn independently and become better able to absorb the material without the aid of a tutor.

Do you work with groups of students?
Not generally.  Brainiac tutors work one-on-one with each student, which makes for the most personal and rewarding learning experience.  One student at a time is our tutor's main focus, so that the student will not be overly challenged or hindered by the progress of other students in a group setting.
